![]() We are a rather large, God fearing, animal loving family! Our son, Will and his beautiful wife, Dani live with their first child in WI. Our son Clay is a pastor in KY with his beautiful wife (Brittany) and their daughter. Our daughter, Cassie lives here in town near us with her 3 sweet children. We have a daughter, Rose who lives with her husband, Curtis (Serving in the US Air Force) and their precious little guy in ND. We also have three sons & two daughters living here in MO. Nate & his lovely wife, Manda and their daughters; then we have two grown boys, Alex & Hunter living in Missouri and our youngest girl, Samantha is now going to College. Ages range from 19-39 so life is eternally interesting -- I'm really loving grandparenting! We can always count on a sweet furry friend to 'love on' during my 'oh so few' quite moments.
We've been raising Papillons since 2004 and feel we'll always have more to learn. We've done some showing and really enjoy the experience of it. Time can be a challenge with this sport though! I love talking about (and to) my dogs - they are soo sweet and smart! What's not to love? I have to say raising Papillons is more of an expensive hobby than a job but, they bring us so many smiles and experiences... we're so happy to share them with you! Robin & Ron Herd |

How we got started...

This is Teddy, one of my very first Papillons. I was so surprised when my 3 year old told me there was a mouse in the pen in there with Teddy. I said, 'No honey, they are just really small dogs.' Well, he insisted he heard 'squeaking', so we 'discovered' "JOEY" our very first puppy born here. It was a fun and exciting day. I got Teddy and a couple of other dogs from a breeder that offered me a 'starter set'. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but loved the Papillon breed and had done lots and lots of reading. Teddy was probably over-bred when I got her, so only had one puppy for me. We loved her and her puppy very much and were very sad when she passed away several years later. Joey (now Taz) is living with Kate in Florida. They still let me know how things are going... as Joey will always be special to us!
