The Herd family...
We are a God fearing, animal loving family! We have a son, Will attending college at UofA, one in youth ministry, Clay (Clay and his lovely wife Brittney live in KY), a daughter, Cassie lives here in town with her husband, Mitch with our beautiful grand-babies. We have a 22 yr old daughter, Rose who lives with her husband, Curtis (Serving in the US Air Force) in Colorado. We have two more attending college (Nate in MO and Mia in IA) and the remaining three live here at home. Ages range from 10-29 so life is eternally interesting. I'm glad I can always count on a sweet furry friend to 'love on' during my 'oh so few' quite moments. We've been raising Papillons since 2004 and feel we'll always have more to learn. We've done some showing and really enjoy the experience of it. Time can be a challenge with this sport though! I love talking about (and to) my dogs - they are soo sweet and smart! What's not to love? I have to say raising Papillons is more of an expensive hobby than a job but, they bring us so many smiles and experiences... we're so happy to share them with you!

We are located in the heart of the US just
a few miles outside Springfield, MO
The Springfield (SGF) & Branson (BKG) airports are not very big, so if we ship your puppy, it'll be out of St. Louis (STL).
I would be happy to meet you at SGF or BKG or if you would like to fly in to pick up your puppy!
How we got started...
_This is Teddy. One of my very first Papillons. I was so surprised when a neighbor's kid told me there was a puppy in the pen. I said, 'No honey, they are just really small dogs.' Well, he insisted he heard 'squeaking', so we 'discovered' "JOEY" our very first puppy born here. My 3 year old (now 12) then came in declaring a mouse was in there with Teddy - it was a fun and exciting day. I got Teddy and a couple of other dogs from a breeder that offered me a 'starter set'. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but loved the Papillon breed and had done lots and lots of reading. Teddy was probably over-bred when I got her, so only had one puppy for me. We loved her and her puppy very much and were very sad when she passed away a few years later. Joey (now Taz) is living with Kate in Florida. They still let me know how things are going... as Joey will always be special to us!
